The Master of Science in Forensic Science (MSFS) Program taught jointly by the Center for Forensic Science Research and Education’s faculty and staff and Arcadia University has received notification of its reaccreditation by the Forensic Science Education Program Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). Arcadia’s program, which has been accredited since 2005, recently completed all the steps needed to renew its status for a further five years. FEPAC sets standards for forensic science education, ensuring that accredited degrees have an appropriate balance of forensic science concepts and principles along with a strong base in core scientific education in biology and chemistry. Center Director and AAFS President Elect Dr Barry Logan said, “We are delighted that our collaboration with Arcadia University has been recognized by FEPAC, and are proud that our program’s focus on science and technology education, mentorship, and research in forensic science has been recognized as preparing our students for careers in forensic science.” Dr Logan acknowledged the work of Arcadia University Program Director Heather Mazzanti in managing and leading Arcadia’s program and preparing it for its reaccreditation.
